What age groups do you offer classes for in Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo?
We offer classes for children as young as 3 years old up to adults of all ages, however not recommended for seniors.
Do I need prior experience to start training in Jiu-Jitsu or Taekwondo?
No, prior experience is not necessary. We welcome beginners and have programs designed for all skill levels.
What is the cost of your classes?
Our pricing varies depending on the type of class and frequency of attendance.
Please contact us at (705) 457-7009 or fill out the contact form on this website for more details.
What should I wear to class?
For Jiu-Jitsu classes, a gi (uniform) is required, which can be purchased through our school.
For Taekwondo classes, a uniform is also required, which can also be purchased through our school.
Comfortable workout clothes are acceptable for trial classes.
What is a typical class like?
Each class follows a similar structure: warmup, technique practice, then live training.
Warmup— We do a fast-paced warmup to ensure we’re ready to move. The warmup reinforces jiu jitsu techniques and develops a basic level of conditioning.
Technique— Each day we practice a specific movement. These vary from basic to more advanced. Some days are designed for review. We focus on drilling and repetition so the movements come naturally during sparring.
Live rolling/sparring— Sparring after the technique of the day is not mandatory. This is a chance to try out your techniques against an opponent at whatever intensity you choose.
How many times a week should I attend classes?
We recommend attending classes at least 1-2 times a week to see progress and improvement.
What safety measures are in place during training?
We take safety very seriously and ensure that all students adhere to our safety guidelines.
We recommend a mouth guard for Jiu Jitsu and we also provide protective gear for Tae Kwon Do when necessary.
